How does the rolly toys two speed gearbox work?
The rolly toys pedal vehicles without gear shift have a chain drive with a slight reduction. The pinion of the pedal axle has 10 teeth, the pinion of the drive axle has 12 teeth (= Ratio 1: 1,2)

For rolly toys® pedal vehicles with a two speed gearshift, the pedal axle and the drive axle are each equipped with two adjacent pinions, over which two seperate chains run. Gear 1 with 1:1,4 reduction, gear 2 (overdrive) with a 1:1 ratio.
If the shift level in the shift gate is in the middle position, then the idle is switched. This means that both chain strands are without drive function. For safety reasons, all tractors with gearshift are equipped ex works with a handbrake.


Is it possible to retrofit the gearshift?
For reasons of liability and warranty, vehicles with a shift are only available ex works. Carrying out a retrofitting independently is therefore not recommended as the milling groove for the shift gate has to fit absolutely precise. This can only be guaranteed with a special device on the assembly line.

Why is only one rear wheel driven?
When driving along curves, the inner wheel turns slower than the outside wheel, which follows a larger radius. Since both wheels are on a continous drive axle, such as driving along curves would be difficult. If both wheels were driven, the drive axle would have to be split in two, with a complex differential between the two axle halves to compensate for the different wheel speeds. Therefore only one wheel is driven, with rolly toys always the left.

Can the pedal crank be adjusted in height or size?
The pedal crnak cannot be adjusted in height or size. The eccentric bearings are intended only for tensioning the chain. When pedaling on the tractor "crackling noises" and the pedals start spinning? These "crackling noises" may occus, if the chain tension is too loose. Therefore, the pedal cranks of all rolly toys tractors are led in so-called eccentric bearings. To tighten the chain, loosen the 3 screws holding the eccentric discs to the carcass. Now place the eccentric bearings parallel to the left and right in the same direction to the same number. For orientation, a line mark is visible on the tractor carcass. If the problem cannot be spolved with this action, it might be that the sprocket of the bottom bracket is defective. To this, please loosen the lid at the bottom of the tractor and check if the sprocket is correct. In rare cases, the pedals must be replaced.


Is there a pneumatic tire for the rollyX-Trac?
We do not offer an air tire for the rollyX-Trac, as these large vehicles would then be too heavy for a sensible playability with the required tire size.

Which trailer fits to which tractor?
Basically, all rolly toys trailer, large as well as small, will fit on all rolly toys tractors as they are part of the rolly toys accessories. However, we recommend to take into account the age of the child and the size of the vehicle. For instance a water barrel attached to a rollyKiddy could overstrain younger children. Why does no water come out of the spay nozzle? To do this, please open the half-shells of the hand syringe carefully and control if the check valve is correctly installed. In order to function it is necessary that the slightly conical part of the check value (see Fig. 1 and 2) must always face towards the nozzle.
